You Can Book All Reservations Online with Goose

As many customers have noticed, our online booking system has changed to Goose.Pet, a fantastic website dedicated to helping pet parents book what’s best for their pet! Beverly’s Pet Resort strives to provide the best personalized dog care available to you and your precious pups. That’s why we’re also transitioning to Goose as our Kennel Reservation Operating System.

For your pup’s future stays with us, we recommend that you create a Goose account. You can then book overnight boarding or daycare reservations online. If you’re not already in our new system, please join. This will help us create your client file in advance of your next stay. With this new system, we will need a 50% deposit for all overnight boarding stays. Customers must also keep a card on file.

Bevo’s Recipe of the Month

Kringle’s Christmas Cookies

Ingredients for the Cookies

2½ cups whole wheat flour – 300 grams (see important note*)
1 large egg – 50 grams
1 cup peanut butter without xylitol – 270 grams (see note*)
1 cup water – 227 grams
2 tablespoons honey – 43 grams (see note*)

Ingredients for the Frosting

2 tablespoons peanut butter – 34 grams
1 tablespoon honey – 21 grams
⅓ cup cornstarch – 37 grams (can also use potato starch or arrowroot powder)
3-4 tablespoons hot water – 43-57 grams

*IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Step 2: In a large bowl, combine flour and the egg. Add the peanut butter, water, and honey, and stir until you have a stiff dough. The dough becomes very firm and sticky. You may need to use your hands, or the paddle attachment on your mixer. (2½ cups whole wheat flour,1 large egg,1 cup peanut butter,1 cup water,2 tablespoons honey)

Step 3: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough about ½-inch thick and use pet themed cookie cutters to make fun shapes. The treats barely spread and rise, so get creative with your shapes.

Step 4: Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden. Once done, set aside to cool. (If you have smaller cookies, use less time, otherwise the bottom might burn.)

Step 5: To make the frosting, combine the peanut butter and honey in a microwavable bowl, and heat in the microwave in 15 second increments, stirring in between, until melted. (2 tablespoons peanut butter,1 tablespoon honey)

Step 6: Add the melted peanut butter mixture to the cornstarch and stir until just combined. (⅓ cup cornstarch)

Step 7: Slowly add in the water 1 tablespoon at a time until you have reached the consistency that you would like. For a thinner frosting, add more water. (3-4 tablespoons hot water)

Step 8: Add the frosting to a piping bag and pipe designs on top of each dog treat.

Step 9: Frost the treats with the peanut butter/honey mixture for an even more tempting cookie.

Hip Hop Hooray a New Way to Play!

Beverly’s Pet Resort now offers an agility course add on for boarding clients looking to add some spice to their agile dog’s life. The Agility Course includes a tunnel, seesaw, hoops, and more to help stimulate your dog’s mind and body.

Our new Agility Course is available as an Overnight Boarding Ala Carte Option (pairs well with Yellowstone Package) or as an Ala Carte Daycare Activity.

A Quick Note: About Health: Beverly’s Pet Resort has always prioritized care of dogs above all else. We follow a rigorous cleaning routine before, during, and after stays using industrial grade cleaner used by vet offices to ensure we can provide the best possible stay for your dog. We require all dogs who use our services to show proof of vaccinations for Distemper, Bordetella, and Rabies prior to accepting them. While we do not require the Canine Influenza vaccine we do recommend it if your vet feels your dog would benefit from having it. Beverly’s Pet Resort has not experienced any cases of the new respiratory illness, if you notice any symptoms such as a cough, nasal discharge, fever, or any other flu like symptom we strongly urge contacting your vet. Whether it be seasonal allergies or something more it is better to be safe than sorry. We here at Beverly’s Pet Resort want all pet parents to know that we are with you to protect your dogs to the best of our capabilities.
